Situated in Orpington, our workshop has been serving local motorists throughout Kent, including those in nearby Bromley, for over three decades now. Unlike typical garages undertaking general mechanical work, we’re a genuine specialist equipped with the sophisticated technology and equipment required to deliver fantastic finishes on all types of alloy wheels, whether car, van or motorcycle. If you’re looking to restore scuffed alloys via wheel refurbishment, or have serious damage and require post-accident wheel repair, we’re the team for the job.

Wheel Refurbishment & Wheel Repair Explained

To refurbish alloy wheels, we follow a strict step-by-step process as follows:

  1. Preparation – First up, our technicians remove the tyre and strip the wheel of its existing finish to ensure the new finish is perfect and not impacted by old or weathered elements. The wheel is then blasted which removes any remaining finish and corrosion should it be present within the wheel.
  2. Inspection – We’ll then carefully inspect the stripped and blasted alloy wheels and note any scuffs, gouges or similar signs of damage, which will signal whether it’s straight forward wheel refurbishment or more comprehensive wheel repair is in order. With simple cases of scuffed alloys, we will simply rub down the wheel; more serious damage will need to be filled and sanded.
  3. Buffing, Sanding & Filling – Now it’s time to employ the aforementioned techniques to remove the damage identified in the previous step.
  4. Priming – Alloy wheels are then primed in a spray booth, before being temporarily placed in a specialist oven and baked.
  5. Painting & Finishing – Now we begin the painting process. A base coat will be applied, usually in a silver metallic hue, colour matched to other alloys to make sure the repaired alloy doesn’t “stand out”. The painting process has to be conducted quickly and accurately, to ensure a perfectly consistently result before any previously applied paint dries. Wheels are then placed in a specialist oven to ensure they will be durable and resist the stresses of everyday use.
